St Cecilia Voices

SCV comprises a wealth of varied experience. The singers in SCV are passionate about their craft and are prepared to devote time and energy to maintain and improve their musicianship and performance abilities. 

Choral members vary depending on availability and the specific requirements of the repertoire. This page lists the core SCV members who regularly commit their time and efforts to making SCV a musical “tour de force”.

St Cecilia Voices is a chamber choir of appx 30 singers, performing challenging repertoire to a high standard. Soloists are drawn from within the choir. To ensure that the choir performs consistently and to the required standard, all singers are expected to practise independently and are provided with online links to recordings and other resources.

Musical Director, Jonathan Crowhurst, is an experienced singer and choral director who brings energy, enthusiasm, and an ample splash of humour to rehearsals.

SCV aims to perform three concerts per year at venues in West Kent and East Sussex. Prior to concerts, SCV has between six and eight rehearsals which take place on Wednesday evenings at Weald of Kent Grammar School in Tonbridge, where there is ample parking.

SCV welcomes invited students who are prepared to work to the level required giving them opportunity to expand their knowledge and extend their abilities in a choral setting.
